About Braque Talley

A highly sought-after researcher, practitioner, and scholar, Dr. Braque (Brock) Talley, Sr. is a native of Starkville, Mississippi, and is currently serving as the vice president of student affairs at Alabama A&M University (AAMU), where he also teaches in the Urban Planning Department. Dr. Talley is credited with increasing the University’s enrollment, increasing the on-campus housing capacity, streamlining processes that support students, enhancing campus safety, and increasing student engagement. Prior to this role, Dr. Talley served as vice chancellor of enrollment management and student success and taught in classes in the Masters of Education program at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB). Earlier in his career, he served was vice president of enrollment management at Rust College.

Dr. Talley is three-time HBCU graduate with degrees from Jackson State University, Alabama A&M University and Rust College, respectively. He partnered with The Princeton Review to author “The Ultimate Guide to HBCUs”

Dr. Talley was recognized as “Top 40 Under 40” for the State of Mississippi, “Top 10 Under 10” by Rust College, he received the Gold Award from HBCU Grow, and has been recognized as “Administrator of the Year” by many Student Government Associations. Dr. Talley is married to Dr. Brittney Tate-Talley, a graduate of the University of Mississippi and the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMC) and owner of Rise Healthcare Services; they have three (3) children, Bridynn (15), Braque Jr. “BJ” (4), and Beau-McCoy (2).
