About Byron Abt
Byron Abt has served as the assistant director of athletics for GATA Productions since March 2022. In this role, he leads the production of ESPN+ broadcasts for the Eagles, in addition to managing videoboards, television shows, and other major digital media projects. Over the past three years, Abt has transformed GATA Productions into one of the premier production units in the Southeast. Known for his innovative approach, he continually pushes the boundaries of live broadcasting—introducing elements like live drone footage, ticker integration on ESPN+ streams, and dynamic shots using a shallow depth-of-field gimbal-operated camera.
