About Denisha Hendricks

Dr. Denisha Hendricks is currently the director of athletics and visiting associate professor at Johnson C. Smith University. Hendricks has served as a Division I, II, and III Athletic Director. A 2000 graduate of the University of South Carolina, Hendricks earned both a master’s and doctorate from Auburn University in 2001 and 2004 respectively. In 2007, Dr. Hendricks graduated from the NCAA Leadership Institute for Ethnic Minority Females. 

Dr. Hendricks has received numerous awards, including 2020 Distinguished Toastmasters Award, the 2012 Auburn University Young Alumni Achievement Award, and the 2007 CIAA Senior Woman Administrator of the Year.

Currently serving as the 31st Chair of the International Board of Directors for Zeta Phi Beta, Sorority, Incorporated, Hendricks is also a member of Order of Eastern Star, The Links, Incorporated, Women Leaders in Sport and several other professional and civic organizations. Hendricks also serves as the Chair of the Carolina Christian College Board of Trustees.
