About Jason Barfield
Jason Barfield serves as the Sam Houston State director of broadcasting for athletics. His duties include overseeing and scheduling of ESPN productions and all live video streaming, video board operations, website video features and serves as the liaison for Bearkat radio and TV. Barfield was promoted to his current position on July 1, 2022, after serving 15 years in the media relations department, including the last six as associate AD for Media Relations. Barfield has been a member of the athletic department since 2005. He played an integral role in the creation and development of the Bearkat Sports Network in 2007, which now includes all, ESPN and Radio broadcasts, a podcast network, studio shows and coaches shows.
