About Matt Alvarado
Matt Alvarado is an engineering leader with over six years of experience designing, deploying, and managing cutting-edge broadcast and stadium production systems. Specializing in IP and multi-control room facilities, Alvarado successfully led and implemented the design of multiple control room facilities and technically managed large-scale productions for high-profile events. Before tackling the Longhorns’ transition to the Southeastern Conference, Alvarado was the chief engineer for the NFL’s Arizona Cardinals and Superbowl LVII. Alvarado is the current head broadcast engineer at the University of Texas – Austin, where he leads the department’s efforts in designing and building a state-of-the-art SMPTE 2110 Broadcast Facility.
