About Tre James
Tre James aka The Production Rockstar is a multi-cam director, executive producer, production executive and technical producer. He also serves as the CEO of Atlanta-based Production Rockstars and executive director of The Production Rockstar Academy.
He began his career in 2005 during a chance encounter at Atlanta’s public access station, PeopleTV. It was there along with his stint and the local UPN affiliate that he began to be groomed by several individuals excited to help this young man grow in his career. He went on to work as a stagehand, AV technician, utility, camera operator, technical director and tech manager. By 2018, he had risen to take on a role as the director of live event production at the UFC, where he spent much of his time designing and overseeing the buildout of the UFC APEX a state-of-the-art broadcast facility and martial arts venue.
While at the UFC, he also started his company Production Rockstars and simultaneously, The Production Rockstar Academy. The Production Rockstar Academy has partnered with brands such as ROSS, Evertz, and others to bring affordable training for broadcast and live events to adult and student learners across the nation. Under his leadership, they continue to develop books, courses, curriculum and an online learning platform to reach more students and industry professionals.
He most enjoys putting together productions from scratch, sharing his knowledge with those who came before and those who will come after him – with the ultimate goal of being an inspiration for all!
