About Katey Jane Martin
Katey Martin, former New Zealand Womens cricket player with over 18 years playing at the international level now commentating around the world on both Mens and Womens World Cups, internationals and franchise cricket. Martin is deeply passionate about the game of cricket, having the privilege of now using her voice to provide an insight into the game, the players and the stories.
What are 3 things you’re passionate about?:
- Coffee – I love coffee, learning the art of making a good coffee alongside the coffee art. I used to travel around with a big coffee machine on tour and set up a café at our hotels and make coffess each day for the team. I now have a nice one at home I miss when im away commentating.
- House and interior design – I love looking at properties, doing up houses and decorating. Im not very artistic but I love going to open homes and looking at houses. I recently built my sister a house for her and my niece and nephew so they had a roof over their heads, that was a pretty cool moment and fun desiging a house alongside my sister
- My job – I am so passionate about what I do, the analysis side of the game and telling players stories. I spent hours trolling through information on players, videos of their techniques to educate viewers and provide different insights into the game
