About Raunak Kapoor
Raunak Kapoor, lawyer by qualification and sports broadcaster by profession, is lead presenter for ESPNcricinfo, the world’s leading digital cricket platform, where he also drives digital video content as Executive Editor (Video). A career spanning 15 years now began as one of All India Radio’s youngest English commentators at the age of 21. Over a period of 12 years in the industry, he has presented cricket on a global scale in the past with ESPN US, ESPN+, ESPN Carribean, ESPN Australia, Sony ESPN and presently with Star Sports & JioHotstar.
In addition to his presenting duties, Kapoor has evolved into an internationally acclaimed broadcaster as a world feed commentator on multiple ICC tournaments and India Men’s and Women’s international series. He is also currently pursuing his Masters in Sports Directorship from the Manchester Metropolitan University, UK.
When not on air, Kapoor spends most of his time rewatching the first four seasons of Game of Thrones, ranting about Arsenal Football Club, constantly vacuuming the house thanks to his three delightful dogs and trying his hand at improvisational comedy.
What are 3 things you’re passionate about?:
Broadcasting: Cricket is a sport like no other.There are so many stories, yet every story is unique, and every story should be told, as best as it can, which is why I love my job. It’s all I ever wanted to do growing up, so I consider myself very fortunate. While I thank my stars, I thank words more, they’ve been my friends.
Food: I feel sorry for those who can eat only when they’re hungry or because they have to.
Dogs: They’re awesome. And way better than us.
