As the editor-in-chief of ESPNcricinfo, the world’s leading digital cricket platform, Sambit Bal oversees editorial strategy and content development of the website. He leads a team of writers, analysts, and multimedia producers responsible for year-round coverage of international and domestic cricket, including ICC tournaments, bilateral series, and franchise leagues.

People. Particularly those I work with. Their success gives me a lot of pleasure. And I have fortunate to be in position to foster atmosphere and work culture and nurtures talent.
Travel. Different places and different cultures expand your mind even without trying. I have been lucky that my job has taken me around the world, and it has helped me grow both personally and professionally.
Nature. It’s at once overwhelming and becalming; it feels me with awe wonder and peace and gratitude. Oceans, mountains, forests, deserts, rains, snow, they are all perfect escapes for me.
