About Roderick Barrett
As Co-Founder and COO of Mobii Systems, Roderick Barrett lead the development of cutting-edge cloud-based media solutions that transform how organizations create and distribute personalized video content. His flagship Dynamic Cloud Mixer (DCM) leverages Synthetic Intelligence to synchronize and automate personalized video streams from multiple inputs, while his cloud-agnostic implementations enable sub-second global distribution and interactive playback experiences. With a B.Com in Information Systems from the University of Cape Town, Barrett spent 7 years in Sweden pioneering Ion-Wind Heat-Transfer technologies, before co-founding Mobii, which today is a global company Head-Quartered out of Toronto.
Barrett resides in Cape Town, where he is actively driving the team at Mobii to actively expand the capabilities of Data-Driven Video Technologies across several verticals. He thrives on finding solutions to complex problems and pushing technological boundaries. He’s privileged to work alongside an exceptional team at Mobii that consistently views challenges through a different lens, allowing them to pioneer innovations in high-profile sports broadcasting and beyond.
Beyond technology, his experience as an avid sailor has influenced how he approaches both leadership and life challenges. Time on the water has reinforced valuable lessons in adaptability, making adjustments when needed, and maintaining a clear focus on goals despite changing conditions.
