About Andy Hook
Andy Hook is a leading figure in the evolution of immersive production and XR studio technology. As director of technology strategy at d&b, he shapes the future direction of the group’s innovation agenda — exploring the convergence of video, audio, lighting and spatial media to define what comes next for live and broadcast experiences. With a background that spans entrepreneurship, product strategy and creative technology, Hook is recognised for bridging technical vision with real-world delivery at global scale
Over the past decade, Hook has played a defining role in some of the world’s most ambitious broadcast and studio projects, leading the design and integration of advanced AV and XR environments for organisations including the BBC, Bloomberg, MSG Sphere, PGA Tour, ITV, Sky and other global media brands.
He is widely credited as one of the pioneers of the XR broadcast stage concept, having developed and delivered the world’s first XR studio for Discovery Eurosport’s Winter Olympics coverage in 2018 while at White Light — a project that helped shape the trajectory of immersive production for live sports broadcasting.
At d&b, Hook supports innovation not only through technical leadership but through collaboration — working closely with manufacturers, studios and technologists to push the boundaries of immersive media and explore the future of spatial experiences.
