About Jim Akimchuk
Jim Akimchuk is president and CEO at BitFire, the leader in cloud production and IP transmission. With more than two decades of experience in live production, broadcast engineering, cybersecurity, and software development, he brings deep technical expertise, practical know-how, and creative vision to the development of high-performing solutions for complex professional broadcast environments.
From his beginnings as a production truck engineer, including early work in public access television, Akimchuk developed an appreciation for the pressures of live production and the value of ingenuity and resourcefulness. Over the years, he’s developed a pragmatic, agile, and relentlessly inventive engineering style, refined while working on some of the world’s largest sports and news events.
Co-founding BitFire in 2020, Akimchuk has leveraged his diverse background to help the company redefine live production and transmission. Under his leadership, BitFire has delivered a series of industry firsts in software-defined, cloud-enabled live production and transmission, enabling media organizations of every size to realize greater flexibility, efficiency, and scalability in creating live broadcasts.
