About Josh Barbarotta
Joshua Barbarotta is senior director of digital video content at ESPN, where he oversees the company’s short-form video strategy across digital and social platforms. He serves as the executive content lead for SportsCenter For You and Verts, two key features in ESPN’s newly enhanced app that deliver personalized and vertical video experiences to millions of fans. His work spans editorial, product, and technology teams—advancing how ESPN produces, packages, and distributes highlights, studio programming, original storytelling, and social-first content.
Prior to his current role, Barbarotta led ESPN’s mobile app, alerts, and personalization initiatives, helping integrate breaking news, video, and scores into the flagship app experience. Across his 17 years at ESPN, he has focused on building scalable workflows, expanding rights-driven highlight coverage, and developing tools that connect fans more directly to the sports and stories they care about most. Joshua is a life-long fan of the Dallas Cowboys and lives in Cheshire, Conn. with his wife, Heather, their 9-year old daughter and a very rambunctious labradoodle puppy.
