About Rachel Silveria
Rachel Silveria is a tenured Film & Television professor and SMPTE Faculty Advisor at De Anza College, specializing in analog and digital production workflows, creative media, and inclusive pedagogy. Holding an MFA in Film Production from USC and a BA in Dance Studies from the UK, she bridges technical cinematic craft with movement-based storytelling.
Beyond her academic leadership, Silveria is an active filmmaker and choreographer currently directing independent narrative and experimental documentary projects that investigate the friction between authentic human movement and emerging technologies.
